Deadbolt is an application you stick in your Startup Items folder (within your system folder ). When you turn on your Mac it asks you for a password. If the password is wrong ( you get 3 attempts ) or you hit cancel it will shutdown your Mac. Oh yes, pressing command-option-escape will shut it down to.

P.S. The password is "apple". You will need to know this to change it to your liking. It is case senesitive.
